Re: shaker door supplier

These days I do nothing but make MDF shaker doors.

I can make them any thickness, usually 18 or 22 mm. Rails and stiles can be any size you want.

Only thing I can't do is priming.

Cheers

Re: That Table saw question again

What you say regarding consoles is true, far more are sold that table saws. But what has changed in table saw design in well, forever? A table saw today is generally same as a table saw 20 years ago, whereas console technology changes at a huge pace. As I said, there are quite a few on the market t...

Re: HELP: Cost to build a hand made/painted kitchen?

There are carpenters which will certainly do it for your budget, but i'd be worried about what you get, I've ripped out some horrendous handmade kitchens made by chippies, which were just a few years old as the quality was so poor. Just for balance, I've seen a few kitchens by specialists, one in p...

2 HP Compressor

I have for sale a 2 HP mobile compressor for sale.

The make is Draper and has four decent sized wheels, and a tubular frame around it for protection so could be used on site.

It is 110V though but I would include a large 5 Kva transformer with it if needed.

Re: To buy or not to buy?

Tony, Did you do the rebates and profile before the tenons? If you did how did you stop the spelching when you did the tenons? You could think about using Douglas Fir instead of softwood. Any wooden windows I do I provide drainage at the bottom of the sashes so that any water that does get past the ...

Re: To buy or not to buy?

Hi mate, How big is the hole in the table and can you get a tenon disc that will fit through the hole that is big enough to cut the length of tenon that you want? If that's possible, then just get it exchanged. If you can't get a tenon disc that will fit through the hole and do the length you want t...

Re: To buy or not to buy?

Hi mate, I have an Axi tilting spindle moulder for sale that I used for the windows for my own house. There is no sliding table with it so I cut the tenons on a table saw. I also have the Axminster mortiser that I might be persuaded to sell that I used for the same job. The chisel they supply with i...

John, Thanks for that. If I had the room I would be looking for separates and I have a good idea what I would buy What I have in mind is a saw / spindle combined and I already have a planer / thicknesser Do you think the Felder is worth the premium over say a Minimax or a Hammer even? Felder?

I'm toying with the idea of getting a saw / spindle combi and just wondered what the general opinion Felder was? I used to have a Altendorf but I am working from a much smaller place now and don't have room for another. Don't expect the Felder to be in the same league but how good / bad are they? Re...

Re: Axminster customer service - excellent service AGAIN!

We're getting lost here.

All I said in the first place is how can someone think that a three month wait for parts is "good service" and award them "top marks"?

Maybe they have several machines sitting in the warehouse with parts missing? Who knows?

Re: Axminster customer service - excellent service AGAIN!

Can't see where you stated the price of the belt was closer to £90 so I'll re-phrase my comment............. So Axminster rob a belt off a new machine so that means they have a new machine sitting in the warehouse for three months that they can't sell because they didn't have a £89.99 drive belt in ...

Re: Axminster customer service - excellent service AGAIN!

So Axminster rob a belt off a new machine so that means they have a new machine sitting in the warehouse for three months that they can't sell because they didn't have a £5 drive belt in stock.

Where's the sense in that?

Re: Axminster customer service - excellent service AGAIN!

Ok,

Three months wait for parts is fine.

Keeping a few drive belts for the machines they sell is way too much to expect because that would double the price of everything.

As long as what they sell is cheap that's ALL that matters

Is there some rule somewhere that you aren't allowed to say any thing bad about Axmimster?

Is it some kind of religion? Praise to the great god of box shifting, Axminster?

Re: Axminster customer service - excellent service AGAIN!

The point is that they don't seem to keep spares in stock? Pretty poor if you ask me whether it's either Trade or hobby? Someone on Uk workshop has given them top marks because they got him some parts for one of their saws, even though it took them three months!! How the f**k is waiting three months...
