Re: WADKIN MK / RM - OIL GREASE

That is a lovely original machine, I hope you keep it like that and don't paint it. I've got its brother the MJ. For lubrication I would take the bearing end cap off and see whats in their. You don't need fancy high speed stuff just a decent quality bearing grease. For the gearbox don't use anything...

Your machine was built in 1957, I've never took an RR to bits. I like the brass guard. Like already said you really want P3 rating for long term exposure. Have you thought about a decent powered one. I used the 3m dustmaster for a few years until the batteries died I then went to a 3m versiflo which are p3, much better than wearing a mask. Really silly money when new but they come up ...

I would define 'refurbished' as thoroughly cleaned, bearings cleaned regreased or replaced and electrics brought up to code. I would define a restored machine to be every nut/bolt removed and the machine put back to original new condition

I hope it has not been converted to grease which sometimes happens. You can still get the felt pads for lubrication from advanced machinery. They need a specific oil as well, cant remember what type/grade off hand.

Re: Wadkin EQ Spindle Moulder Parts

The bearings for the EQ are pretty special high speed and quite expensive. They run an oil mist system. Budget bearings wont work in the EQ. There was a bearing floating around ebay for a while for £200. You will get a shock if you price the bearing

Does it have its original starter? you could check the contacts are clean. I would only start one motor at a time. Does it have belts? If so take them off so there isn't as much load whilst your checking the motors out. It sounds like your breaker might have the wrong rating. For these old machines ...
