Re: Off cuts and sawdust/shavings

Hi

I looking at getting a small brickett making machine, as the bricketts can be sold if not being burnt or stored. As sawdust/chipping is always a by product of what we do. I also sell the offcuts as kindling when it is cut up.

If the bench is beech, you could use 0000 steel wool and lightly rub it down all over. If oak I wouldn't use steel wool and would use a decent abrasive paper and start at around 150 and work up through the grades to about 320. You would not need to rub it down to within an inch of its life, but eno...

You could also offer them to schools, colleges etc for art and crafts. I sure that they would bite your hand off for them (as long as the tubes are clean). Or contact bagpress they might buy them from you for their bag kits to go in. I would be interested in a few depending on sizes for my bag press...

In which piece?

The white sycamore sofa table. I can see the moles for the fixing, but can't work out how, unless there are holes in the bottom shelf for some fixings that have been plugged.

Nice looking door. I have a question, is there a step down into the house or is it a level threshold, I only ask as if you have rain and wind and it blows onto the door, how is the rain being stopped from pooling inside the door threshold/front hallway?
