Union Jubilee 240v Wood Lathe £600

Union Jubilee Wood turning lathe 240v Excellent working order. Everything is original on this. The paint shows wear as a machine of this age would, but i like it. Used and serviced regularly. So it comes with the bowl attachment, which has tool rest, and tool rest pillar. The tool rest set-up is tot...

Re: Can I use car paint on top of a wood primer?

Apologies, delayed reaction! Well, they've signed up for it, so we'll find out in a couple of months when I get onto making/painting. Do you actually get much in the way of waterborne car paint? I thought the world had moved that way, but Google says no! I was going to stick with that as that's wha...

@tusses yeah the Mechmate comes as a build yourself package which you can spec yourself too from what i gather. their site is a bit wafty so not 100% informative. have you got any info on building a machine? from what i gather it is a damn sight cheaper. What is your machine like? got a thread on it?

yeah i understand steve, but its not for wardrobes. i am pretty efficient when it comes to cutting sheets, probably prefer to do it on the saw rather than cnc it anyway. less dust, less drawing time etc.

Re: CNC - Advice wanted please.

i have space for something smallish, nothing too huge, from what i have seen, the full sheet machines are huge so i probably couldnt have one of those. I work from a 1000 sqft workshop, so have room to move bits and bobs about. its really just an enquiry to see whats possible and whats not possible....

no idea. thats why I am asking. I use CAD daily but not sure what program is used for plotting.

I have no experience or knowledge of cnc.

would just like to know my options. if I could get a machine which would take a 4x4 sheet or half full sheet, that would probably still do.

thanks guys. Just in the processs of deciding which route to go down, i think i would like to set up a proper spray room, which would benefit the company and allow a bit of growth room for expansion.
