Re: Spindle moulder tooling for sash windows

I make quite a few replacement sashes for sash windows that are being renovated. 95% of them are an Ovolo moulding and I have a router cutter from Wealden Tools that is a pretty decent match for most of the windows i am replicating. I do moulding, scribing and rebating on the router table at the mo...

Re: Ash kitchen Ialand Top - joining planks

Worktop clamps are intended for pulling together worktops in situ. I would probably use some 45x95 framed around the worktop in two places about 1200mm apart with a long 45x95 section as a carry handle so two people can carry the top. No worktop clamps for me!

Sliding Patio Door Track and Corner Detail?

Hi all, I've been asked to fit these sliding doors to the corner of a kitchen extension. The largest door is over 3m long and about 275kg so big and heavy. I'm having a couple of problems: 1. Locating a supplier of sliding track that can take both the size and weight of the doors. 2. Details of how ...

24mm is pretty standard for sealed units. There are generally a couple of recognised methods for bedding in the sealed units: 1. Drained method using tapes etc to seal between and around the unit and frame. Holes are drilled in the frame to allow any trapped moisture to escape. 2. fully sealed with ...

I'm sorry I can't help even though I've been in the trade for decades. Wadkin, Dominion and Cooksley are some of the better made older machines around. These manufactures built machines of industrial quality and made them to last. A few years ago I worked in a boat repair yard which had a 12"x7...

I think the obvious answer is, how much did the item cost? I think if you are purchasing an item of furniture from a quality cabinet maker and paying a decent price the answer would be only to expect very minor imperfections or none at all. It's all down to what you negotiate with the furniture make...
