Re: Torch on felt advice

I was going to redo my workshop roof with torch on but was very worried about the amount of dust i might ignite . Someone suggested doing a fibre glass roof . I priced the system up from Selco and there wasnt much in it cost wise so i went for it . Very easy to do , looks great and wont get damaged ...

Re: Power feeder for spindle moulder options

Just bought a 3 phase wadkin with 3 phase power feed . Where the cable goes in there is a basic junction box and that powers the machine and power feed . The grey trunking to the right is the power feed cable that went to that box . https://live.staticflickr.com/7924/33597119688_5f04d45b6d_z.jpg

That may be the reason its taken about ten years to make ! Just D3 white glue for the laminating , i'm toying with the idea of fibre glassing it and then glassing it to the boat .

Every little helps mate . Just missed one on ebay :x
Let me know what you want for it .
A 30mm spindle would be better . Can you get a modern spindle to fit an old machine ? Without the use of gaffa tape !

Re: Roofing question

Rather than your floor plate to hold the new purlin / wall you could double up some 6-8 x 2 Depending on the span and let the walls take the load . Or make a box beam up . If you do the box beam you could make it in the loft space .

I wouldn't worry about the softwood hardwood thing . It all rots if you dont look after it .
I use a router and fence to run the grooves , three or four passes and its done pretty quick .
