I've been looking at buying a 3 phase machine , planer thicknesser . Now from experience the 240v @ 4hp, motors are expensive to say the least . Inverters are notoriously expensive , which is the best way to go ? Inverter or new motor . Is it worth the money ? Although it's a load of hassle I wouldn...

Its taking a small pitch at the from and about 20 150mm x 50...

i have seen in the past 240v put through a 415v socket most 16amp machines wont run on a household 13amp supply , so the plug gets changed it is usual to change it to a blue commando socket , which is cheaper than the red 415v sockets and less confusing. so, maybe not a daft question after all . nic...

no , no, and no you use these with a polishing medium like solvol autosol . it will soften the leather and soak up your medium , these work just fine the way they are , saying that the scheppach has it rough side out , but i dont use it like that barbers use the smooth side of the leather with talc ...

on another website it was suggested that it should be soaked for several days in danish oil
then left to dry and polished
still concerned as what is the best finish ??

Crikey Mel what did we say - is this the holy grail. i think titanium is the "holy grail" owing to difficulty to work and the heat/hardness involved . like i said dont want too dash your enthusiasm , get some photos up and lets have a look at your efforts . ive been making knives for about the last...

yes they were bought specifically for the knife handle , scales we came um
the two pieces were 40mm wide x 6mm thick x 125mm long . came in at about £40 inc delivery
its a sod to work and gives off a really fine dust ,
