That looks like a Cooksley planer thicknesser that has been cannibalised to just a thicknesser by
removing the tables, if you have the tables you maybe able to restorei it, if not you only have a
thicknesser.

Whatever finish you use l would recommend not using anything water based. My choice for filling pin hole would be using hard wax sticks after you apply the finish, l often mix colours to get a better colour match.

That is a good price for a CMT cutter. For speed and consistency limit switches is the quickest way to find home, l use that method or a 3 axis zero plate that is placed on the corner of your material or inside fixed stops, l used the second method when l use a base jig for cutting small components....

The cutter l use for your situation would be a SOLID CARBIDE 2 FLUTE UP DOWN COMPRESSION ROUTER BIT 8mm x 32mm, they also come in other length options

lt would not be my choice of carcase construction but it gives you a starting point.

Judging by the very expensive looking house and appliances l would not dream of making the carcase out
of nothing more than shuttering plywood

You can make them any size, the limiting factors are generally comfort, appliances and if you want to make the drawer boxes or work with standard size stock items, this is a rough guide without knowing the details

Pete, I have made a few of these, mostly 2 step, the 3 stepper is quite dangerous as the top step is immediately above the foot below it which can make it unstable, have a look at the proportion of a normal set of kitchen steps.

Your friend has made a very nice job of the car.

My recommendation is shotgun stock oil, l use it on my fly boxes, this one is around 10 years old.

I have two Apollo spray setups, they are HVLP type that has less overspray, l use either pre-cat or AC lacquer l haven’t used any waterbased allthough I will be trying some soon, they cost less the the Fuji, you can get a good price for an Apollo from hvlp.co.uk

Keith, I use a similar method for my kitchen carcases, these have removable bases and backs, that can be fitted and removed from the inside, also when you fit the plinths they are screwed from the back of the front rail, this gives them a really solid fixing, I just hate plastic legs with avengance....
