Rotten Sash and Case Window (the Case!)

Postby mac72 » Fri Dec 23, 2016 4:33 pm

Hi,

Can anyone point me to a place on the internet (e.g. Youtube video) where I can see how to remove a Sash case which is rotten? Any handy tips on how best to do it would be appreciated. The case is in-situ, with plaster board, etc on the inside.

(I found plenty for sash repair videos but none for case removal)

Many thanks

Mac.

See if you can get in touch with Jacob .. he should be able to point you in the right direction.
I haven't seen him on here for a while, but I know he's on other forums.

Hi Mac,

I have repaired and replaced quite a lot of sash windows over the years, why have you put this question in the boat section to obtain answers? It the sash case is installed in a house I'd move this to the general section in woodworking where you should start to obtain some answers.
