Help with hinges...

Postby CarpentersGrandson » Sun Jul 16, 2017 6:42 pm

Hey guys,

I want to recreate a table that I saw online, it's no longer for sale but even if it was I wouldn't be able to afford it. It's a great space saving idea that's perfect for my flat.

But I'm stuck with information on the hinges used to open the legs of the table out.

Greatly appreciate if anyone can help.

Thank you

If you zoom in you can clearly see the hinge in the table

I looked all over Hafele and couldnt find anything similar.

JonR - Those wont work because when the legs are folded up the leg needs to be flat against the underside of the table and the hinge needs to be concealed in the table top and table leg so that when its folded up and on the wall it looks like a framed mirror.

Thanks for your posts though guys

And also when the legs are opening out, they are not just folding out under the table, they are folding out to the end of the table if that makes sense?

couldn't you use any hinge, along with some stays .. either top cupboard type .. pasting table type etc etc .. there is a lot of fold up camping type furniture to look at too

I could but I didn't want any hinges showing. Don't paste table hinges fix to the side?

you could rebate / groove to have them hidden in the legs .. just a suggestion to use a stay that might not be intended for this use :-)
