I'm new to woodworking and would like to build my own bench.
I see a video (By Rex Krueger) on YouTube for a basic 'English' joiner's bench.
He uses 4x4s for the legs and 2 x 10s for the top and apron.
Anyone know where I can buy this timber (Online) and have it delivered to central Scotland?
I don't want to spend too much so I'm thinking pine or something similar.
I looked on Google but didn't see anything.
Thanks for any help.
Stephen.

Re: Bench project: where to get timber?
I'm in the same process as you.
New to woodworking and building a bench. There's a lot to read and learn.
I've gathered that the cheapest place to get timber is from your local timber merchant, whoever that might be.
What's wearing me down these (Covid) days is that many merchants are not "walk in" so you can't inspect the wood before you buy it, which is not ideal due to knots and bends.
Also, they tend to be secretive on their prices.
Want a price list? No, tell us what you want and we'll give you a quote.
Anyway, how is the bench building going?

Contact your closest cabinet maker/joiner and ask them to supply you some prepared timber to the sizes you need.
I'd be happy to supply someone if they gave me a cutting list. Might take a few weeks though!
