Tenon Saw for a child to use

Postby thekarter » Mon Oct 29, 2018 8:45 am

I need a tenon saw for my six year old grandson to use. I have two sharp point saws but they are both quite had for the little chap to use. I need one with lot of small teeth - any ideas?
This little chap is really keen to do woodwork and I want to encourage him as much as possible. Are there any simple plans on line of items that he could make?

In a similar position as a lad I was given a gents saw.

I also had a gents saw when I was about 7 or 8 - they are fairly easy for a small hand to grip. First projet could be a bench hook.

Gents saw has now been delivered. The little chap will try it out this weekend.
