Sharpening/Honing

Postby andrew666 » Fri Apr 24, 2015 8:03 am

Researching various forms of sharpening, and was wondering if anybody has had any experience using slate as a medium, and if so what we're the results like?

Yup; bought one of the new slate finishing stones from...from...from, um, Iago Jones is it? Does a good job, very fine stone, good for final honing. Stone itself is softish, but wear is imperceptible one year on with amateur hours on the tools.

"Do it properly - sure!" Sam just read all my minds. A serious question, by the way. I always have problems with sharpening too.
