Stanley 45 A gift from an old joiner

One of the old boys down my road stopped me in the street today and said he'd like to give me his old stanley 45 if i could use it in the workshop . I was expecting some battered old rusty thing but he presented me with this :shock:

Nice, not sure it would be much use today but still worth quite a bit of money.

I used my 78 the other day to just copy a rebate in some timber . Sometimes its quicker to use the hand tools than set up a machine

That was very nice of the chap to give you that plane Jason. I have the updated version which I used to put a bead as a break on rebated doors but has now sat for many years being idle. They are handy on the odd occasion you need them.
