Mitre saw blade

Post by skmc1955 » Fri Mar 13, 2020 12:18 pm

Hi,
I need some advice please.
I have a Power Devil sliding mitre saw and the blade is marked, 254x3.0 x 30T bore 25mm.
Would this blade fit? Evolution Circular Saw Blade 255 x 25.4mm 28T.
I don't know if the .4mm on the bore matters.
Thanks,
Steve

Yes it does. It will 'chatter' most likely.

Ok. Thanks for that. Looks like I might have to think about a 30 bore with a reducer.

You do not want anything that sets up vibration (chatter) on a sliding saw!
I have found one here http://www.homewoodltd.co.uk/saw-blades ... -25mm-bore. but that bore sixe seems a strange size.
Solent Power tools supposedly does Power Devil spares but they do not state bore size just outer diameter and teeth no.s

Sorry if this is a daft question, but can you use different diameter blades in the same saw?

Why not use a 30mm bore blade where there is far more choice and add a spacer to convert to 25 mm
Spacers are stocked by axminster amongst others

That is a good point. Would probably save a few pounds in the long run too!

Thanks for the advice, I've ordered a Saxton blade which comes with the spacers.
