5 IN 1 combination/universal woordwork machines

Postby Golfer4588 » Sun Jan 21, 2018 7:52 pm

Hi guys,

I was hoping for some advice regarding combination or universal woordwork machines. It doesn’t really bode well that I don’t even know the correct name!
Basically, I’m not asking for much, just a jointer/thicnesser, table saw, spindle moulder and morticer all in a single machine. I can’t believe B&Q don’t sell them!
For the projects that I have in mind it would be ideal if the thicknesser could cut to a depth of 9 inches but not a must.
I have been out of the trade for many years after an apprenticeship at Edmonds Shopfitters in Birmingham. Decided to try playing golf for a living but things didn’t exactly pan out!
I have found a few machines on the inter web but was hoping for a few more names and models so I can widen the search a little as I’m guessing these machines don’t come on the market very often?

Kity Bestcombi 2000 5 in1 Combination Woodworking Machine
Dominion Supreme Elliot Universal Woodworker
Felder BF6/41 Combination

Regarding budget, it would really depend on the machine.

Any help would be very much appreciated

Richard

I would post your question in the "power tools and machinery" for best suggestions, the Felder combi would be my choice.

I would second felder or maybe hammer, but you are going to struggle getting a combination machine that includes a morticer.

Another +1 for felder.
If you have no space go the combi route.
If you have space go separates.

I had a Kity Bestcombi 2000 for a few years then sold it and bought a Mini Max LAB 300 N which was on eBay. A far superior machine of a 'professional standard' as apposed to the Kity which is a 'hobby' machine.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I got a bit carried away on eBay and won an auction for a Luna W64.

Does anyone have any ideas where I may be able to get a user manual?
