Planer Thicknesser Function Leaver

Postby Dave_J_G » Sun Sep 23, 2018 12:07 pm

Hi All

Just received a new PT (AT129PT)

I accidentally left the leaver that engages the thicknessing mode in the thicknessing position when I used it as a planer

Is this Likely to do any harm to the machine?

Thanks

Dave

Unlikely. Normally all such levers do is to engage the drive to the feed rollers that are only needed when thicknessing.

That's how it works on my Scheppach, left it on many times all it does is engage the clutch for the feed rollers.

Hi Dave
The only thing that is noticeable, is on smaller machines the start up time is slightly longer and the power consumed may be higher.
