Saw blades for Radial Arm Saws

Post by thekarter » Sat Mar 02, 2019 4:44 pm

Do I need a special saw blade for a radial arm saw? I have use a normal circular saw blade for years but recently the blade tries to ride up over the wood and jams!

I would suggest you need a crosscut blade with chip limiters (this restricts how much material each tooth takes during the cut and prevent ride up)

Negative rake and limiters for use with RAS
+1 for cutting solutions
Bob

PS you are pulling the saw towards you when making a cut not pushing I hope!
