Any of you guys wanting to use a dado blade in your DW RAS?

Following interest from members in another place, I will be making some flanges soon to the original DW dimensions.

Price is £20 plus £3.15 UK second class signed for postage

Payable via paypal gift (you pay the charges that way!) or better option all round- bank transfer.

PM me if you are interested. Strictly payment with order please.

Please note that I'm not doing these as a commercial enterprise, simply to help members out as DW no longer seem to supply these as spare parts.

Bob

EDIT: I've recently discovered that the 12" DW saws use a 20mm arbour.
I only have dimensions for the dado adaptor for the 10" range that use a 16mm arbour. So until I get a sample 12" adaptor to copy, I only offer a solution for 10" DW RAS models.

Hi,

Are you still doing these and, if so, will the fit a DW721?

Thanks John

Hi John,

As far as I know the motor and guard are similar across the range of DW saws so it should fit. I'll make a spacer up at the same time so you can add this if you get a problem.
As a new member (welcome by the way) I think you can't use the PM system until you have made a few posts.
Email me directly at motors@minchin.org.uk with your mailing address and preferably a landline number. We can take it from there.

I hate to sound like a doom monger, but using a wobble saw on a radial arm saw is considered a very dangerous operation as there is a high chance of kickback and injury. Guarding and vibration can also be a major issue. Better to make multiple cuts to achieve the groove or do the operation in a different, safe manner.

Who is talking about a wobble saw here?
My adaptor is a direct copy of the genuine DW part which I am reliably informed is no longer available from DW spares stockists hence I make them from time to time to help out members of UK WW forums.
The original part supplied by DW is for use with a proper dado set which fits inside the standard DW blade guard as well as their unobtainable dado guard.

Agreed, dado sets are not everyones choice of cutting method but used with a guard are fine. Taking repetitive cuts with a standard ATB blade does not give a flat bottomed or accurately repeatable results.

I bought a load of 15mm films a while back and have recently found a projector to play them. Heres a dewalt film for your entertainment.

I have another dewalt one with lots of RAS's, with one being the biggest I have ever seen. It must have a 30" blade
