Finish on an old wood valve radio

Post by hawkeyefxr » Thu Feb 13, 2020 6:55 pm

I have an old smallish wood cabinet valve radio from the 50's, the finish appears to be varnish (at least it's hard and shiny) I plan on sanding this back to base wood and refinishing it.
What would be the best varnish to use.

Have a look at this current thread maybe

Be careful sanding as the cabinet might only have a thin veneer on ply or similar.
