Splitting veneer

Post by kalees » Wed Feb 24, 2021 8:44 am

I have a narrowboat that is lined out with ash veneered ply. The issue that I face is that he veneer is starting to split in a couple of places as per the attached image.

I am aware of the cause, bamp, lack of ventilation etc by previous owners.

I am looking for any advice on making the best repair that I can without replacing the panel, that would be a big job!

Any suggestions appreciated,

Keith.

Easiest approach is to make a feature of it, get some epoxy and add a bit of contrasting colour. Otherwise you're in for a lot of hard work and a vertical learning curve if you've never done this sort of thing before. Or try here https://salvagedinspirations.com/how-to ... ed-veneer/
