Drummond Lathe

Postby Stanleymonkey » Wed Dec 30, 2015 11:05 pm

I have acquired a fanstastic 1908 Drummond treadle lathe. It all works and is in amazing condition.

Yes it's for metalworking, but I'm using it for some basic woodturning.

Does anyone have any experience with Drummonds or treadle lathes? Any advice would be great.

I have a Patric lathe, about the same age. it has been fitted with a motor and the treadle removed (before I got it)

I use it for metal though .. don't think it will be fast enough for wood ?
Plus it's all open, and the dust would get in the moving parts
