Legacy Ornamental wood lathe

Postby timber » Wed Jun 22, 2016 11:17 am

Hi
Has anyone got, or has had one of the above, I have just bought an old one and although it is in good condition, I should like to know more about, ways of using it, I have the original VDS tapes that came with it but they are from the U.S.A. and won't play on my player.
Cheers

I am not up the latest Model ££££ mine is the Woodchuck as black as sin, must get it resprayed sometime in red.
I take it you do the copying of the spindles using the cutter at the side and not from above, as I do on my Trend router lathe. Is it 1/2 " straight
You also must have a rotary table to do that circular pattern
Thanks for your help and the pics. they look good.
Cheers

I do the spindles by dropping the cutter onto the template and then winding the handle so the cutter moves onto the new blank i am making .
The rotary table is just a bit of metal that goes between the rails with a pin in the middle of it . I made an MDF table with a hole in it to take the pin . I guess you could use the end stock to do the same job if you could fit something to it to take a home made table .
