latest kitchen
Our latest kitchen just finished in a new extension. Designed and manufactured by ourselves. The island unit is in F&B Moles Breath and the rest of the units are in Purbeck stone. The tops are from the Cliveden Quartz range. Just need to go back next week as the top fitters took a good old gouge out of the larder end panel by the base units so it needs blowing in, satin as well

Re: latest kitchen
Looks good, nice and neat and agree with you on the plinth lighting .
Mrs Leveller keeps on about her kitchen. I keep telling her its only been in for 24 years so plenty of years left in it but I think I may have to sort out a new one.................

Very nice, even the plinth lighting! At least they can turn it off if the novelty wears off

Re: latest kitchen
Quite a lot of units there Tommy, I have not yet made a true set of face frame units but I like yours. Shame about the paint damage but I don't think it will ever bee spotted now you have worked some magic on it, nice touch up, in fact a nice job all round.
Can I ask how long it roughly took to make, then how long roughly to fit? Yes I am cheeky, so I don't blame you if just ignore the question.

Re: latest kitchen
Thanks for the comments guys, Mark it took me about 5 weeks, a bit longer than I wanted really but it was for a mate so I was doing it between other jobs that earned proper money! Fitting was just over 3 as there was a few other things to do while I was their.
Re: latest kitchen
First class job!
And as mentioned, glass end cupboard is lovely feature!
Is that a dishwasher incorporated beneath a hob?

Re: latest kitchen
Cheer for letting me know Tommy, I'm sometimes unsure how long some things should take as I only do joinery occasionally. It really helps to know how long others take to make and fit items as I can use the times as a guideline.Tomyjoiner wrote:Thanks for the comments guys, Mark it took me about 5 weeks, a bit longer than I wanted really but it was for a mate so I was doing it between other jobs that earned proper money! Many thank's

Little tip to stop paint damage in the future is got some .75 lexan polycarbonate between the units and stone when the slip it in it cant touch the paint

Re: latest kitchen
Lovely job! Nice one!
Can I ask how you went about the paint touch up (assuming it was a spray finish on the cabinetry?) ?

Re: latest kitchen
I just sanded the area with 180,240 then 400 an thinned the paint down about 40% then did a few light passes with the gun with a small fan, a quick blow between coats with a heat gun. Gave it 3 really fine coats an it blew in nicely. Think it was 20% sheen so you couldn't polish it an to be fair it helped as it was fresh paintwork.ftacarpentry wrote:Lovely job! Nice one!

Re: latest kitchen
Yes i know. The plinth lights are really tacky an spoil a descent kitchen. Unfortunately all clients don't take our advice.
Re: latest kitchen
That's perfection, for my taste at least. It must be a delight to cook in that kitchen. Amazing job, thanks for sharing the pics.Rogere-M wrote:Cracking job Tommy. 5 weeks for that lot? Did you get any sleep?
