Adirondack chair

Post by philip sewell » Fri May 10, 2019 8:06 am

I haven't made one of these before. It's mainly glued and screwed but I have added some domino joints for strength. It's made in sapele so can go outside but the owner intends to use it in his lounge. He lived in the US for a while and apparently always wanted one.

I got the plans for this from an old Fine Woodworking magazine.

Looks good. Are they going to add cushions or leave as is?

Yes I believe they are going to add cushions. It's not a chair for the elderly, it's a bit low to the floor but it is comfortable.

Nice work on the Sapele one ! The extra supports on the back of the arms is a good idea .

Hi Jase, that would be great, especially as I've just been informed she would like a few, which probably means four!
