Choosing windows for a new house

Hi, it's not really DIY per-se, but I am going to change windows in my house. Quality is the most important factor, I want something that will last. My friend suggested alu-clad or PVC windows from Klessen (http://klassen24.co.uk/), however I would also like to hear some other opinions. What do you think?

Just took a quick look at the Klassen site and the alu-clad windows look ok. If I wanted ultra low maintenance I'd be tempted to choose UPVC but UPVC is common and unappealing to me so I guess alu-clad or oak wood windows would be the choice for me if I wanted quality and was not too concerned about price or decorative maintenance.

UPVC does deteriorate long term and can fracture and or fade over the years, so if you are looking at long term it is probably not the best material to choose.

If you read up on the life span of UPVC you will see what I mean.

Depends on your budget, pricing against UPVC is always a looser, I've just bought 2 Windows & a door complete with glass in UPVC for not a lot more than the price of the glass on its own
