Repeating the tape measure distance

Say you had the base of a drawer and you wanted to draw four guidelines - in 10mm from each edge. Is there a quick way of repeating the guideline on the remaining three edges once you have set the distance for the first edge?

In other words, I drag a guideline in from edge A and enter 10. That sets the guideline 10mm in from edge A. I then click the Tape Measure tool on edge B and I usually then repeat the drag and enter 10 again...but there must be a quicker way to repeat the line at 10mm surely?

Using your drawer as an example, the drawer sides ought to be copies of the same component so you could open one of them for editing and place your guideline. That would also place one in the same relative position on the other side. I suppose it is unlikely that the front and back are the same so you'd have to place those guidelines individually.

What are you using those guidelines for? Maybe you don't need all four of them?

Sorry..my fault for using the drawer ...it was a bad example!

I am making a mask that will overlap a clock face by 5mm all the way round. So I created the clock face as a component - and as my reference. I then wanted to draw the mask lines 5mm in from each edge. Basically working my way outwards and creating the rest of the mask/door frame as I progressed.

Offset tool?

Offset would work but if you don't want the new edges to be part of the clock face component, first copy the edges of the clock face (Ctrl-C, Command+C, etc.) then close the clock face component and temporarily hide it. Hit Edit>Paste in place and then run Offset to create the smaller rectangle. Delete the outer one and continue from there with creating the mask. Unhide the clock face when you are ready.
