another domino 700 question

Ive been asked to make some iroko internal doors,some glazed and some raised panel
I don't have a morticer as I don't often do this type of work,I don't want to sub the work out as work is a little scarce here in southern Spain.
My question is has any body used a df700 to make doors ?
I was thinking of making the domino/ siot extra wide and making my own dominos or putting two or three in each rail.
Any advice welcome......

The DF700 works really well for doors and windows. The Utube shows him making a dry assembly, but that would only be practical like that if you 1. Use the oversize mortice setting. or 2. Use smaller sanded down Dominos. Making "full size domino tenons" is also easy with the right size router/ spindle cutter. G

Get a domino. You'll use it for so much more. I even use mine for cutting in deadlocks these days! Awesome for laminating boards as well as carcassing work. I'm just waiting for a reason to get the 500 also

Don't bother with extra wide doms. 2 or 3 will do. They fit perfectly snug and will hold the door tOgether easily in just the dry fit. I used to make dominos but now don't bother. The time saved using the thing more than justifies the cost of a few doms

I have a 500 and like it , very usefull tool but I would never use a Domino for external doors. You can't beat a traditional mortice and tenon for strength. With a domino you're only relying on the glue to stop water ingress through the joint above and below each domino, whereas water wont get past a tenon.

A mortice and tenon on a 9" bottom rail will help stop a door from dropping where a Domino is next to no benefit.

For cupboard doors, light weight internal doors,laminating boards,cabinet carcases etc a 500 is good.

Thanks for all the reply's, the job I needed the 700 for is on hold at the moment so I will wait....
Should the project start up again will go with the domino as looks like it has many uses, also I don't really have space for a morticer and don't see me as a cabinet maker getting much work for it......
