Face frame questions

Looking for some advice regarding how others do there face frames.

Ive been joining the verticals to the horizontals with a masons miter which I presume is probably universal ,to fix this joint Ive been using pva and a screw.how do others fix this joint ?? Domino ?? (Ive got an Island unit to make there the screw fixing method wont do.)

Fixing the face frame to the carcase ive been using biscuits and pva (some times a little PU max on the carcase ) is domino better or is there another way ??

Ive been spraying the face frame before its fitted to the carcase ,is there another way ??

How do others do there draw set up , fit frame flush with inside of carcase ,or the other way around and pack out for the runners.??


Sorry for all the questions, Im based in up in the hills in southern spain ( there traffic jams don't exist ,we get stuck behind goats!! )and often feel 30 years behind the rest of europe and wondering that the other parts of the world are doing.

Hi,
I just picked up a notcher for the frames
Pocket screw the frames to the cabs
Dominos work well for me for the joints, hoffman wedges are also really good
I pack out for the runners and usually paint before fitting. If i do a long frame as a single unit for a run then the frame covers both the gables between cabs so you dont have to pack it out. I found long runs good to do this way but sometimes a bit of a handful to install.
If it was to be painted on site it would be primed before. You could try fitting the frames and masking the insides of the cab.
