Flat Panel Kitchen Cabinet Doors

Postby Sheepdisease » Sun Mar 06, 2016 6:15 am

Hello there, I am looking to make two kitchen cabinet doors and am after a basic look that enables the doors to blend in with the wall by using push catches and no handles. I will be painting the doors the same colour as the walls as the idea is that this integral cabinet will be almost invisible.

I will be using primer and kitchen/bathroom paint on it so it should resist water exposure.

I am concerned about the wood warping on the larger panel and want to know which wood would be most suitable in the kitchen? It's not going to be particularly big at 38cm x 45cm and I am open to suggestion on thickness which may well depend on the material you recommend.

Thank you kindly.

I've always used 18mm MDF moisture resistant in that type of scenario, never had it warp if it's painted both side's.

18mm mr mdf here too

if you havent got the hardware yet id go with pop out pistons and reverse sprung hinges ,much more reliable than the old touch latches.
