Window handles

A bit of advice please, bought a house, windows are timber with these handles fitted. Unfortunately the edjits have lost the keys and 3 windows are locked shut. I can just burst these ones off, but have not seen any the same to replace them with. So question is anyone know where I can get same ones then I can just replace or what can I replace them with. I assume too difficult to get keys that would work? I did try old keys I had lying about, but non fitted. They are about 25 years old I think and still in good nick ( the windows) Just want to be able to open them to "paint" them.

If you can take one of them off and round to a master locksmith it will probably be a lot cheaper and less hassle for him to sort you a key.

I have the MIT guide to lock picking somewhere on one of my old hard drives if you are interested ! lol

Thanks for the replies guys, will ask local locksmith about a key and see what cost is, if expensive will just buy new ones via the ebay link. Most grateful

Oh, what bad timing...just threw away some of these. They look like old Magnet windows. The keys are pretty basic TBH. I'll have a look round tomorrow to see if I have one lurking. You could try your local Magnet...you never know.

If you find any keys that would be great I tried every small one I could find and none would even insert into lock, its always when you have a clear out that the next day you need some thing you binned

I've had a good look all over but I'm afraid that I've drawn a blank. Any good locksmith will open those windows in a jiffy.

Or buy one of those that JonR linked to. Not that expensive and worth a try as those keys really are primitive.

A wee update for those of you interested- I managed to pick the locks with a tiny allen key and a screwdriver, thank goodness they are inside the house ... So no need for locksmith or new locks
