So who is looking ?
Hobby here but looking to do this maybe part-time in the future.
Been bogged down with the day job for the past few months so haven't been on the other forum much - now that I cam back, I found this one
Anyway, hoping to have a bit more time for projects this year so will try to be a bit more active on the forum.

Hi Matthew and welcome
So who is looking ?
Hii All
I am Hobby, and I am unlikely to be professional because I am fundamentaly too lazy
. I have been looking for a reason to sign up when I could addd something useful and I will in the "techniques Ernest Joyce question" I would have used my normal name Alan as a user name but as usual it was gone so I thought of the first thing I could and as the cat was plucking the carpet up again! Ocicat came to mind.

Hi Tuppenceworth, who shall henceforth be known as TW, don't worry about slowness, it would apperar that the average age here is quite high.

Welcome to the forum PitbullDo you run a workshop or on site ?
I run my own workshop, manufacturing windows doors etc etc. But I also go out on site. If it involves wood I like to get involved. I am wanting to get the time to take up turning. But I think its more for the fact it would mean I have to buy some more chisels. ;D

Cheers all
At the moment I have the painters in, the ceiling grids lads also, and tonight Im doing a ghoster, from about 9ish.
Then tomorrow I can have an easy day back in the shop doing beech doorsets and windows. Its for a 3 floor office extension, with a canteen on the ground floor.

Hobby these days. Just couldn't stop myself making what I wanted to make, when I put my feet up and my tools away. The problem is, all the relatives want stuff making... (Well all those on the 'First Lady's' side at least. )

I had a bagful of chisels given to me PB... If I hold them up, you can just about tell the difference between the bag and my face!
Welcome

I don't do work anymoreis it not a four letter word?
As soon as anything is classed as work it's not a hobby anymore is it?
So Bonjour Goodenmorgan to everyone.
LN
Well said LN!
So I am just off to my hobbyshop to do some woodhobby(ing)
problem is at my age it's a lot of hard hobby!
It's a great hobby though LN, I agree. The luckiest of us are able to make a living from our hobby, so that's the place to be.
Happy Wood-hobbying.

Thanks Jaco,
I was struggling to think of a user name, and then looked at the beer bottle I'd just finished.
Another 20 minutes, and I'd have been 'London Pride'!

trade
When you do it all day it becomes the last thing you wanna do at night, but with carpentry and joinery there are so many variations that it NEVER becomes boring.
At work I fit kitchens, doors and timber frame etc... but for pleasure I like to 'experiment'.

Hi all.
First post on this site. Once the work shop is built, I will be a hobbyist.
I wondered where you all were.
