New tool

Hi,
I am currently undergoing a design engineering degree. I have the chance design a new product and I was going to try and design something to make woodwork and other "handyman" work easier.

I have spent many years as a "handyman" mostly working with wood and have identified a few problems but I was hoping to widen my range of potential products.

So i would really appreciate it if you or anyone could have a think next time your on a job and see if you can identify anything that takes longer or is more difficult than it should be, or if there is any flaws with products you currently use.

Any suggestion is good

Power tool extraction hoses are always ribbed and so they snag as they slide over the work, it's a real nuisance and if you could come up with a solution (other than using a boom arm) that would be great.

I'll echo that. Its a proper pain in the butt. I did think about getting that heat shrink stuff but the cost put me off. Surely somebody must sell smooth extractor hose ?
