Hi All, I have a Startrite T30 (or is it T50....cant remember) Spindle Moulder that has just stopped working.
I think its likely an electrical issue. Ive had a look at it, but to really don't know what wrong with it and need a pro.
Does anyone know someone in Kent (I am in Tonbridge) who repairs machines I could take it to ?
Thanks
Richard

Re: BROKEN SPINDLE MOULDER HELP
A sparky could put a tester on it and tell you whats happening and what is n't, single phase isn't it so capacitor possibly. If you want to haul it back up this way you have Home and Workshop Machinery in Foots Cray.

Re: BROKEN SPINDLE MOULDER HELP
I did not think of home workshop and machinery....., I should have done though, as up until a few months ago I lived in foots cray and I've been there about a million times ! Ill give them a call tomorrow and see if they fancy having a look. Im sure they will help.....or sell me another bigger one - lol
Thanks Jon.
Thanks Jon.
Re: BROKEN SPINDLE MOULDER HELP
Hi if it is single phase remove drvie belt ,tooling etc, power on and spin motor by hand ,if it the continues to run then the start cap, winding has popped ,also possible that centrifugal switch in motor has failed or bunged up , or even more basic are there any overloads in the starter that need resetting, last but not least fuses ?
Hth ,I am in rainham in kent,
Cheers

Re: BROKEN SPINDLE MOULDER HELP
A guy came to fix it today and its all fixed ! It was something called a thermal cut out that had basically vibrated itself loose. I NEVER would have found this in a million years .
I was so impressed with the guy (he charged me £55) and was here about a hour I've started a new thread with details if anyone else is in need of machine repair or service.

good to see you got it fixed, nice little spindles. I often think about finding a guy local to me incase any of mine break down. I usually patch them up myself when you know what it is but it just takes a problem like yours id be stumped.
