Blast gates help.

At W14 I remember seeing some blast gates on duct work, they you could operate with a wire dangling down. pull one side to open, pull the other side to shut.

I can't find them anywhere, and that is perhaps to do with the fact I have no idea what they are called.

I need 2 no 200mm fittings.

Can anyone help me, I may even need to get them made.

Could you do something with blast gates with a 90 degree rotating blade inside, rather than the slidey door type? With a dangly piece of wood attached to turn, rather than a wire to pull?

Unless you want to go really posh and have pneumatically operated.......I'd have the stick method and spent the rest on my tractor

So anyway couldn't find one, but found an idea on the internet of a home made one, so 10 minutes on the computer, 5 minutes on the CNC, 5 minutes assembly and voila.

Not tested it yet, but basically this will connect vertically to 200mm ductwork above the machine. It will have some gripple wire attached to the 2 outer bolts on the moving parts, pull one to open, pull the other to shut.

I use pull cords for the on/off on the extractor, all that stretching up keeps my back moving and I don't need to go to yoga anymore.

Such an improvement over the leaky eliptical gate supplied with the ducting order.. and considerably cheaper!
