Peally varnish

The varnish on the deck of my speed boat has started to peal in places . I really don't want to be revarnishing the whole boat so any tips for a fix ?

Except then you will never be able to revarnish.

I may try cutting the raised stuff back and then building it up to the same layer . Maybe applying and wiping off until its built up ?
Time consuming but worth a shot ?

I'm not sure you have much choice if the existing varnish is peeling. I suspect the only realistic option might be to clean and degrease the surface, and sand back everything until you get to something solid, either bare wood or sound varnish, then apply another coat or three of a good yacht varnish. Where the existing varnish is still sound the cleaning, degreasing and sanding back is only to provide a good key for the new varnish.

From what I've seen, most boat/ yacht owners spend almost as much time keeping the 'brightwork' looking good as they do sailing (ha, ha), especially if the boat is moored outside all the time - sun, wind, rain, hail, salt water, etc, is tough on the varnish. Slainte.

No, not from here, I'm pretty certain of that. His boat has to be at least 250 miles away from where I exhale my stinky breathe.
