Oak worktops

Postby Jonathan » Sun Sep 20, 2015 6:20 pm

Got a client that wants me to pre varnish some oak worktops prior to fitting , and there is a join that has to be done on site.
In the past I've always had plenty of time and used oil, however this particular job is a holiday rental place and I only have one day to finish the work.
Im hoping that someone can recommend me an oil with a fast drying time as this pre varnish method seems wrong !!
All suggestions welcome.....

Briwax hard wax oil goes off very quick, I've been able to put two coats on in four hours. Why not pre finish with HWO do the work, rub back with 320g then give it one more coat before you leave. Temperature needs to be up for it to dry quicker of course.
All the best
