Hi folks. A quick intro.
I have been turning, strictly hobby, for about 18 years now and 8 years back we moved over to France from Stroud, Glos. A real dream and no regrets. I now have a lovely house, big garden and a workshop I dreamed of ages ago. I love making wooden toys and am weening myself back to my workshop after a partial fusion operation on my right wrist at the end of May. I'm almost completely self taught apart from a weekend course with Ian Wilkie a LONG time ago.
You can see the type of things I enjoy from the links in my signature. I hope that I can both learn and contribute to the forum. For me it is a hobby and a passion and to see a lump of fire wood transform into a lovely toy is such a surprise every time. I am not a stranger to forums and if I am allowed to post a photo with my first post then this really is my pride a joy. All beech from outr wood pile, apart from the trailor rails which are turned bamboo

Hi from Jonzjob
I have discovered that wine really does get better with age.
The older I get the more I like it!

Welcome John...we're all good here...ignore the rumours!
The advantage of a bad memory is that one enjoys several times the same good things for the first time.
