Hi All
I've been asked to price something similar to that pictured below... my current ideas involve making a frame work that is clad with MDF, spray finishing it and then hiring a whacking big van to transport it in as big a sections as I dare.
Any other ideas on how the seamless look could be achieved? It is about 4.5m wide, 2.4m high, and the firplace will actually measure 2.0m wide.
The finish is going to be a matt grey colour.
Any help or ideas would be gratefully received.
Pete

Re: Fire surround/units
We are doing something similar to this. I won't try and make too big as it's going to be difficult to spray/deliver and install.
Firstly, I would be more concerned about the fire. The one we are doing required a lot of planning to enclose the fire, with 50mm fire boarding
and special finishes. You will also require vents to the top to allow any build up of heat within the fire encloser and if gas fired, then
access to serviceable parts at the bottom.
Hope your charging a fair bit for that, isn't not a 5 minute job.
